Editorial Assistant

The role of an editorial assistant is to work alongside the editorial team in creating the best content for our audiences and respected clients. This role is a stepping stone into the media and publishing space, opening the door for you to develop and get involved in the ideation, production, and the distribution of digital content for our Pat Callinan Publishing Brands.

You will help the team with logistics, scheduling productions, calling in product, product reviews, and also be able to help drive, shoot, write, edit or post digital content. 

You may have a desire to be a journalist, production assistant, presenter, content producer, shooter-editor. Being successful in this role will help you develop these skills. At this stage all you currently need to bring to the role is a sincere passion for the 4x4 lifestyle, and have great communication and organisational skills. 

If you can demonstrate the ability to talk from a passionate 4x4 enthusiast angle and have a willingness to learn and develop, this will go a long way. 

You will work closely with our team to hone in your skills and to understand our audiences and our clients. 

As the editorial assistant, you take pride in your work, present professionally and can work solely or within a team environment. You demonstrate great communication and organisational skills, are confident to liaise with our staff and the industry experts.

Desired skills and experience

•    Great communication & organisational skills.
•    Enthusiast of the Australian 4X4 touring market.

This is a full-time role is based out of Blaxland, NSW. There is the occasional weekend away on 4X4 trips and industry events.  An attractive remuneration package, will be offered to the right candidate.

Digital Content Producer

The role of a Digital Content Producer is to work solely, or part of a team, from the conception, production, onto the distribution of digital content for Unsealed 4X4 and any other Pat Callinan Publishing products. 

Digital content could be anything from an article on our website, a story in the magazine, to a video hosted on one of our social channels.   

We aren’t looking for an expert journalist, presenter, photographer or video editor, what we are really looking for is someone with a sincere passion for the 4X4 lifestyle, who is articulate and competent in writing and storytelling. 

If you can demonstrate the ability to talk from a passionate 4x4 enthusiast angle and have a willingness to learn and develop, this will go a long way. 

This role will have you working closely with our team to hone in your digital content producer skills and to understand our audiences and our clients. 

As the Digital Content Producer, you take pride in your work, present professionally and can work solely or within a team environment. With excellent communication skills, you are confident to liaise with the industry experts, can research, review and test product, while holding the ability to communicate your story with our audiences. Heck, you may even be happy to appear on-camera presenting!

Business Development / Account Manager

The Role

Your role as 'Business Development Manager / Account Manager' will see you formulating effective advertising, sponsorship and media solutions for your clients via our proven Digital, Print and Television platforms. You will be given a patch of clients to look after whilst also generating new business wherever the opportunity exists.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Key account management
  • New business development
  • Client meetings (national travel when required)
  • Working with internal stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes for your clients
  • Formulating marketings strategies for your accounts
  • Generating proposals
  • Presenting your proposals via web conference, phone or face-to-face
  • Managing your CRM, targets and incentives
  • Skills and experience

You are a dedicated account manager that understands the value of delivering both short and long-term outcomes for your clients. You are proactive, intelligent and have a genuine approach to business outcomes.

You must have:

  • proven experience selling digital media advertising such as website, video, email marketing, digital magazine or similar
  • proven track record of selling media or advertising solutions in digital, print, radio, outdoor or television
  • the ability to work completely autonomously (extremely important)
  • strong presentation skills
  • solid understanding of the media landscape
  • confident phone manner
  • strong communication skills
  • networking skills
  • valid Australian drivers licence

Desired but not essential

  • degree in business, media, commerce or similar
  • direct and agency contacts in the mens lifestyle segment
  • experience in the automotive media market
